Last December, the Republic of Ireland striker became his club’s youngest Premier League scorer when he scored against Arsenal at the age of 18 years and 73 days.

“Evan deserves this new contract and he has a very big future ahead of him,” said head coach Roberto de Zerbi.

Ferguson, Brighton’s young player of the season for 2022-23, had previously signed a contract extension until 2028 in April.

Kaoru Mitoma, another clubmate, signed a new contract last month that runs until 2027.Given Ferguson’s outstanding rise at such a young age, Brighton might expect interest from other teams.

Ferguson has helped Brighton reach seventh in the early parts of this season after finishing sixth last season, and they will hope to keep him. Ferguson joined the Seagulls in January 2021 from Irish club Bohemians.
