Real Madrid Forward Eden Hazard Has Fully Recovered From Ankle Injury

“I know he is recovering well. He is not far from running again and there are no complications,”

Real Madrid coach, Robert Martinez said that Eden Hazard has recovered from the ankle surgery but without confirmation of when the player will be set to play.

The 29-year-old had an operation done in Dallas last month after fracturing his ankle. Due to the suspension of all football matches due to the coronavirus pandemic, Eden Hazard will only return to play when La Liga resumes.

Having just returned from a three-month layoff, Hazard got hurt in late February playing in Real Madrid’s loss to Levante.

“I know he is recovering well. He is not far from running again and there are no complications,” Martinez said in an interview with several Belgian media outlets.

“Everything went well with the operation, but you also hope that everything goes well in the four to five weeks afterwards without complications, and there were none,” Robert Martinez said.

“We know that he will return stronger. We are also fortunate, of course, to have his surgery take place just before the coronavirus outbreak.

“Otherwise he would not be able to travel or be treated outside of Madrid. I have a positive feeling that Eden will be back soon,” he added.

After moving from Chelsea to Real Madrid at the start of last season, Eden Hazard has only scored once in 15 games for the Spanish giants, with the hope that he will score more when La Liga resumes.
